Neptune’s Quest is now live! The Casino Heroes blog takes a deep dive to the dark oceans to uncover what this slot holds in its shell…
Neptune in Roman mythology
Before taking a deep breath and plunging into this blue slot, let’s remind ourselves about the mythology of Neptune.
He was the god of the sea and fresh water in ancient Rome and he was also worshipped as the god of horses, which made him a patron of horse racing.
Neptune was considered to be the son of Ops (mother earth) and Saturn (the sky god). The classic tale of “father gets jealous of his kids and tries to kill them” is present here, as Neptune and all his siblings were swallowed by their father. Luckily their clever mother made Saturn vomit up his offspring, as she gave him a large stone instead of their youngest son Jupiter.
Saturn’s paranoia turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy, as he and the other titans were overthrown by Neptune, Jupiter and Pluto who divided the universe amongst themselves. Neptune is said to have had many mythological children, such as Triton and Pegasus.
Neptune’s Quest – the slot
We are greeted by a happy looking Neptune with golden coins falling out of his right hand. He’s wearing a crown made of golden shells and holds the famous trident in his left hand.
The soundtrack is quite ominous, with a mix of bubbles, whale song, and enticing synth chords.
On the screen we see an underwater building that probably is Neptune’s castle, and right underneath it is the spin button.
By clicking the info box, we see that the red octopus is the game’s wild symbol (by landing 5 the pay-out is 10.00), Neptune himself has the same pay-out, the mermaid pays out 6.00 as well as the green water bull.
Other symbols in this aquatic game are the trident, fish, shells, starfish, aces, kings, queens and jacks.
To the right of the spin button, there are two mini grids (2×2 each), and the main grid (6×3). When clicking the spin button, all the grids spin.
Neptune’s Quest – special features
Neptune’s Quest has a Spin Bonus feature which is triggered in more than one way. Players can match 4 symbols in one, or both 2×2 grids, or land 3 scatters on reels 9, 10 and 11. This will pay out x1 the stake + 5 bonus spins.
If 4 matching symbols land in the reel columns, and 3 scatters on reels 9, 10 and 11, a pay out of 100 times the stake gets triggered, along with 20 bonus spins!
If the feature gets triggered with matching symbols, they stick on the reels during the bonus spins. In the reel column that didn’t have 4 matching symbols, the symbols are swapped with larger ones.
An extended wild can also appear on reel 11 in this feature. Scatters can land on reels 9, 10 and 11 which will reward an extra 5 bonus spins.
The slot Neptune’s Quest was originally a land-based slot machine, created and developed by Williams Interactive, why we are extra happy that it’s now available online as of February 11th 2019 on Casino Heroes – the Casino that Gives You More!
