Today we write about some of the most common features in slots. Read more to get a better understanding of Wilds, Scatters, and Multipliers.
Every slot out there, almost at least, has wild symbols. But what are they exactly, and how can players benefit from them?
Let’s say that the player chooses a 5-reel slot, but only lands one winning symbol, for example a king, on reel 2 and 3. In this case that combination doesn’t generate a win.
But what if a wild symbol lands on the same pay line on reel 1? This suddenly means that the spin results in a win and that’s because the wild extends whichever adjacent pay line symbols it lands next to.
There are a few different versions of the wild, and here are some of the most common ones:
The Stacked Wilds are symbols, that land on the same reel in pairs or more. This helps with winning combinations as the stacked wilds replace any symbol other than the scatter (which we will get to later).
The stacked wilds help players by enhancing the odds of a successful pay line, since two wilds obviously are better than one.
Stacked Wilds can pop up either horizontally or vertically depending on the game.
The Expanding wild is always shown as a single symbol that then will extend itself in, according to the game rules. It can expand into a line, or even a square, depending on what kind of expanding wild it is, and which game of course.
As an example: In our new slot, Si Xiang there is a bonus game with a lot of beasts. The beasts represent the expanding wild. These beasts pop up in the bonus game, and then spread out to cover a 2×2 grid on the play field.
A sticky wild looks and acts like a normal wild, meaning that it helps creating winning combinations. It also sticks to the reels and creates winning combinations on the following spins too.
This wild may rack up wins since more sticky wilds can land on the reels on following spins, effectively multiplying winner chances.
This is a multi-symbol wild that shows up on the reels in a specific shape, for example a cross, and replaces the symbols to make potential giant winning combinations.
Scatters in video slots help the players enter the bonus round, they grant a set number of bonus spins in accordance with how many scatters land on the grid in the base game.
In addition to start a bonus game, they can also act as wilds and multipliers.
They are intricately woven into the base game of the slot and will most likely be represented by an iconic symbol.
These symbols exist to multiply any given win with a set amount. They are very common in most slots and casino players will most likely see them on their reels.
The multipliers can double, triple or even multiply wins by x1000 times, depending on the slot of course.
Even though multipliers aren’t that common in the base game of slots, they will pop up quite often in bonus games.
We also have a new game for our players today!
In the deep dark jungles, there lies a temple…
This slot has 6 cascading reels that fall in from the top. If a combination is landed, the tiles will explode and leave room for new tiles to fall down from the top in an attempt to make new combinations!
When all the stone tiles on the board are destroyed, the Bonus Game will start. During the bonus game the player can choose between two different special features.
The symbols in this slot are an explorer, golden statues, and red masks. Other than that, players will see 3 different gems: a ruby, a sapphire and an emerald. For the lower value symbols, the game developer opted to use letters such as A, J, Q, and K.
Our games library keeps expanding and you can read more about some of our other new slots here.
